Exports, green energy transition, subsea 3D printing, and robotics was on the agenda when the Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry, Jan Christian Vestre, and the President of the Norwegian Parliament, Masud Gharahkhani, visited Kongsberg Ferrotech this week.

– Kongsberg is a leading hub for industry and technology, and I am glad that I’ve got to meet some of the hard-working people behind it. To meet the green transition, Norway needs more future oriented solutions, and the companies I’ve met in Kongsberg contribute to just that, said Jan Christian Vestre, the Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry.

Kongsberg Ferrotech demonstrated that it is possible for Norway to be competitive in developing high-tech solutions.

– We are glad that we got to meet the minister and the president of the parliament to share our plans for introducing subsea robotics to offshore wind production and to discuss how to ensure that the public funding schemes are best aligned to support innovation, growth, and the energy transition, said Christopher Carlsen, CEO at Kongsberg Ferrotech.

– In general, doing business in Norway is a positive experience – the interaction with the government is very efficient and streamlined, and our impression is that there is a genuine desire to support companies like Kongsberg Ferrotech.

– In connection with our projects on offshore renewables and our contribution to the green energy transition, we need help to navigate in the European and Norwegian public funding schemes; something we discussed with the minister, he added.

The Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry and the President of the Norwegian Parliament did also visit TechnipFMC, Kongsberg Maritime, Uvdal Maskinfabrikk, Applied Autonomy, N2 Applied and Kongsberg Innovation on their tour.
